ConstructionProperty development company Deicorp approached Blue Diamond Machinery with a request to purchase a 350kVA diesel generator. They needed the generator to power two cranes and site amenities on a construction project.
After conducting a detailed load profile analysis, the Blue Diamond team recommended a more efficient solution.
Blue Diamond supplied Deicorp with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) as a replacement for diesel generators on the project.
Drawing power from the grid to charge the battery, BESS deliver a constant, reliable and environmentally friendly power source for construction sites. Working in conjunction with the existing 60 amp feed from the grid, the BESS unit was able to comfortably power the entire site without relying on diesel.
Over the project’s lifetime, this solution has delivered impressive results, saving 23.5 tonnes of carbon emissions, 15,400L of diesel and a significant reduction in noise pollution.
