The Challenge

Costly On-Site Diesel Use

One of the UK’s largest construction companies, Laing O’Rourke, was in need of continuous, reliable power for the MELconnex Alliance project at Whiteman Park to power up a 200 person compound. Power was needed to to run their temporary site offices without the risk of overexpenditure caused by overloading, logistics and maintenance costs.

Generator overloading

Expensive diesel fuel costs

High overall maintenance & operation costs

The Solution

Our Hybrid Power Solution

Blue Diamond Machinery completed a power audit and analysis of the site’s power requirements and delivered a 100% redeployable solution. The installation included a 50kVa hybrid battery and solar 40kW of solar power, a 45kVa B-ESS and a 50kVa backup generator.

The Outcome

Almost 100% Renewable Power

The project at Whitman Park successfully replaced a 100kVa generator running 24/7 to a cost-effective, energy efficient hybrid power solution with almost a 100% push through on renewable energy. This drastically lowered on-site noise pollution, diesel handling and overall operational costs.

Reduce carbon footprint

From 24/7 diesel run-time to just a few hours a day

Almost 100% push through of renewable energy
