One of the UK’s largest construction companies, Laing O’Rourke, was in need of continuous, reliable power for the MELconnex Alliance project at Whiteman Park to power up a 200 person compound. Power was needed to to run their temporary site offices without the risk of overexpenditure caused by overloading, logistics and maintenance costs. Â

The Challenge
Costly On-Site Diesel Use
Generator overloading
Expensive diesel fuel costs
High overall maintenance & operation costs
The Solution
Our Hybrid Power Solution
Blue Diamond Machinery completed a power audit and analysis of the site’s power requirements and delivered a 100% redeployable solution. The installation included a 50kVA hybrid battery and solar 40kW of solar power, a 45kVA B-ESS and a 50kVA backup generator.

The Outcome
Almost 100% Renewable Power
The project at Whitman Park successfully replaced a 100kVa generator running 24/7 to a cost-effective, energy efficient hybrid power solution with almost a 100% push through on renewable energy. This drastically lowered on-site noise pollution, diesel handling and overall operational costs.
Reduce carbon footprint
From 24/7 diesel run-time to just a few hours a day
Almost 100% push through of renewable energy
