CAT Primero: Off-Grid Power Supply for Lithium Crushing Plant

Blue Diamond Machinery customised a power solution to operate a lithium crushing plant in the Northern Territory.

Northern Territory

The Challenge

Inadequete Power to Service Daily Mining Operations

A lithium crushing plant in Northern Territory was in need of robust power to efficiently operate daily duties. The site was in need of a highly customised generator synchronisation solution to ensure minimal generator down-time to complete operations.

Hot and dusty conditions

Limited access to the grid

Costly refuelling

The Solution

Five Highly-customised CAT Generators for Synchronisation

Blue Diamond Machinery supplied 5 x highlycustomised CAT generators – 3 x 650kVa prime power, 2 x 715kVa standby power, and a 16,000L fuel tank. The generators were upgraded in-house to run in synchronisation to help push out service intervals. It also leaves critical power redundancies onsite for breakdowns and unforeseen maintenance. Each generator is fitted with highlycustomised modifications specially designed for the mine site environment and operations.

The Outcome

Reliable Power, Less Fuel Costs & Longer Generator Lifetime

Using a highly customisable fleet of generators ensures reliable, readily available power for the continuous operation of the crushing plant. Generator synchronisation also significantly lowers overall fuel costs, generator longevity and lessens service intervals.

Lower service intervals

Significantly lower fuel costs

Less generator downtime
